We’re a tireless nation running on fumes, according to health professionals who warn that pandemic-related sleep and anxiety issues are rising at unprecedented and alarming rates.
Digital search experts at Exploding Topics report that searches around mental wellbeing have risen 53% in this past year alone.
Sleep searches have increased too up 12% over the last three months with online (sleep) searches averaging 201,000 monthly.
Experts agree that stress and sleep issues are interrelated and frequently feed off each other.
In a recent study, more than 77% of respondents queried about pandemic-related sleep issues reported their current anxiety level is at an ‘8’ or more on a 10-point scale, according to High Yields Insights CEO Mike Luce, who notes that sleep disturbances impact women at greater levels than men by 10 percentage points.
Simultaneously, women are showing a preference for CBD gummies, one of the reasons these products are among the highest growth segments for the industry, according to High Yield Insights’ 2021 U.S. CBD Consumer Supplements study.
Conducted in partnership with InnovateMR, the study also revealed that seniors (aged 75 and over) are among the newest gummy converts with more than three in 10 first-time users reporting pandemic-related trials.
These trends signal opportunities to elevate marketing efforts around National Sleep Foundation’s Sleep Awareness Week, which occurs March 14 – 20 this year.
The annual event celebrates sleep health and encourages the public to prioritize sleep to improve overall health and well-being.
With so many media outlets planning special Sleep Week segments, digital ads focused on sleep solutions will provide opportunities to improve ROAS (return on ad spend).
Keyword search products, like our keyLIFT solution, are among the marketing tools CBD brands are utilizing to capitalize on real-time keyword searches by bottom-funnel buyers in search of sleep solutions.
Regardless the marketing platform, National Sleep Week is a perfect time for CBD companies and cannabis brands to help put our nation’s sleep issues to bed.
