THE PAIN CHRONICLE – A report in the March issue of Pain yields new insights from researchers who found when people lose control over pain, they tend to repeat the strategies from previously successful pain control methods.
It’s an important distinction and may become a contributing factor in future patient pain management protocols.
The understanding that pain sufferer’s tendency to revert to previous pain management protocols was more likely if they received instructions from others than when they developed a strategy by themselves, may be a catalyst for more collaboration between patients and their physicians.
